Not every ride is a great one . . .

Well every time you go out can't be your best time out. I had a quick 3 mile ride because my rear hub decided it wanted to retire. Hence a few days off after the ride on the 11th.

For some crazy reason I decided to head to J-ville and punish myself with Keller N Crew. Ouch I was a bit sore. Time for me to get an XC bike for times when I decide I want to get crushed !!!

And today I decided to do a little ride, just some Jabb and down. Was a bit tired from Saturday so cut it short, it was a little snowy on Jabb making things a bit interesting. (The ride was actually only 9 miles, forgot to turn of the Garmin)

Early a.m. pedal . . .

Decided to get up before word and put in a good little ride. Left from my house up Park St. to White Rabbit up to the links. I can't get enough links right now. It was a gorgeous morning and I got to watch the sun rise as I was riding.

Ate crap once, off the rock drop on Jab. I was to busy worrying about the fact that a runner might be coming up the trail and wasn't 100% concentrated and the right side of my handle bars clipped the tree right before the take off. But all is well, it was a perfect crash!

Yeah STRAVA !!!

So I found this super cool new site and its what I'll be using to show my rides www.strava.com. Holy crap be careful though its slightly addicting if you are at all competitive !!!

So the first ride here was a blast, took off from the house and got to ride Jab twice in one day !!! Rode with Andy, Fred, Brain W and Sam.

This ride here was my first ride back with the Keller crew for some time. He let me borrow his single speed. First time ever on a single speed, sure are fast uphill !!! Although knee is a little sore.

Sick links ride !!!

I was going to take the day off but Aaron shot me a text to ride so I decided since he as such limited days that he can ride I should take advantage of it, plus the weather was AWESOME !!!

Had a great ride, I was a little sore and Troy road with us as well so the pace on the way up was solid. Made it all the way to upper lower links till we saw the first sign of snow.

The trails were in mint shape, cant wait to get back out and ride again. It's always a blast riding with people that are close to your abilities or a little better. On the decent Aaron and I were tit for tat, it was fun riding his rear wheel and trying different lines to see what was faster.

Arron on the left and Troy on the right getting ready for the decent

I ended up getting the chance to work on my tube changing abilities, flatted just below four corners. Got that fixed and headed to Jab ! I decided I didn't want to pedal the 2 mile worth of road back to the house. At the bottom of Jab I headed up BTO to BTI then over to loop rd and up to the Rabbit Hole trail head. Now I've run up and down Rabbit Hole but never biked it. Man it was awesome short but crazy fast. From there I took the ditch trail and stopped by a friends house where these tasty treats were waiting for me . . .

Homemade pizza pockets . . .  YUM Thanks Channi the were delicious !!! After the snack put the  helmet back on and blasted down park st to mi casa. Another great day on the bike !!!

First ride of February . . .

Ahhh had a great ride out at Applegate today. It was 60 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Got to ride with Irby, Andy, Sam and Fred. We rode Collins Mt. counter clockwise to the lake trail counter clockwise as well. I forgot how much fun Collins Mt. is. Pictures to come soon !!!

Actual ride was 21miles, forgot to turn on the Garmin after our last stop, you can see where it draws a straight line.

Rides of January . . .

January 1st- Rode First Tracks of The Year around Applegate put on by http://rvmba.org/ . . . What a blast of a day, a special thanks to everyone who helped make it happen !!!

(18.5 miles)

January 2nd- Went down to ride lower Shasta with Fish and a ton of other people. Rode some new and old trails and had a blast.

Getting the finer details worked out . . .

January 4th- Rode from the Bandshell to Ostridge Peak with Sam, Josh and Elliot, yet another great ride !!!

January 5th- Rode from the Bandshell to road 400 to lower bull gap . . . Great ride, very little snow. This was the ride I hurt my knee, no traction in mid air !

January 8th- A new favorite route, left from the Bandshell up to 4 corners then to Bull Gap access rd to rd 400 to Corp Camp rd which puts you in the best spot just above the rocks on lower bull gap . . . This ride was tough, went to bed at 7 up at 10 cause I dont bail. Had a Ruby's burrito 5 minutes before the ride, not a great idea, needed a little more time to let it settle! Got to the park and Matt Wittler, an X pro from Canada and the ever so fast Aaron all showed up. Not the crew I was hoping for : / but I survived.

January 15th- First ride on the knee, did not pick the best route. Decided to ride the ridge trail which has a ridiculous steep 1 mile hike a bike, but boy was it worth it. Wish I was wearing my Garmin, I forgot to charge it. Rode with Sam, Fred and Yeti. Gotta love riding new single track.

(13 miles)

January 29th- Ahhh no Garmin again, this was my first official ride back on the knee. I say official because between this ride and my last I saw one of the best orthopedic Dr.'s this valley has to offer. This ride was super RAD because I finally got to meet and ride with the local Super/Enduro celebrity Nathan Riddle. It was a great ride and we got to crush some Jabberwocky (or as I like to call it 8 seconds) !!! Also rode with Bill (for the climb), Zane, Aaron, Ryan and Rob.

(14 miles)

January 31st- Hard double ride. Rode from White Rabbit parking lot to lower Links back to the park and met up with Andy, Fred and Rob then climbed all the way to No Candies to Mystical to Hit Rd. Hit 32mph on Hit Road trail, it was fast.

*** January is over and the knee is feeling better. Total mileage so far is 142 miles. I'm assuming this is going to be a very low month, the knee put me out for 21 days :( More riding to come soon as well as some more pictures. My camera broke so I'm saving up for a new one.
